TEAM: 16U SUNDODGERS - HONEY

COACHES: 16u Sundodgers - Honey will be coached by Arista Honey & Taylor Woods

Our team is a great group of returning athletes and families that are focused on creating a positive environment to take their game to the next level. Communication and a team-first mentality are mandatory! For the 2023/24 season, our team will focus on the recruiting process and branch into the showcase tournament environment. We will focus on skills testing, provided at the annual Sundodgers Combine, opportunities for skills videos, and on communication with college coaches. Plan to play 10-12 tournaments (3 fall/ 7-10 spring) with at least 2 out of state college showcase format in the Spring. Practices will be held on Wednesdays & Sundays throughout the year and we will have practice through the high school season. LOCATION: In the Fall, we train with Softball University instructors Wednesdays, rain or shine, in PUYALLUP. When weather allows we will have access to outdoor fields and practice in LACEY. (With plenty of families willing to arrange carpools). Getting outside often gives us the opportunity for an extra practice before tournaments! FUNDRAISING: We want to give players the option to earn funds toward player fees, travel, or other. There will be 2-3 fundraisers throughout the year.

UNIFORMS

Players will need to NAVY, WHITE & GOLD uniform items. All uniforms and fan gear will be purchased online through BSN. We will set up times for players to come try on the sizing kit. Uniform costs are separate from team fees.

TRAVEL

Recruiting tourneys are “stay to play” tourneys. Meaning we have to stay in certain hotels they choose, or the team can pay a fine to stay somewhere else. This means all players must stay in team hotel. While on the road, it is a business trip. We like to model it after a college road series. We hold team meetings, practices, or team bonding to fill any free time if game schedules permit.

RECRUITING:

Coaches will clearly lay out the steps of the process and help girls confidently take on each step. Players will have someone who has walked the path and has been through the recruiting process to help them along the journey. Sundodgers have former college athletes leading them, all who have personal connections to schools across the country. Coaches trust our opinion on players because they have seen us play and know we understand the game and what it takes to play at the next level. We will do everything in our power to help our players reach their goals! *See thesundodgers.com for our list of alumni!
