COACHES: 16u Sundodgers will be coached by Memory Connell

Memory Connell- I am a 2002 graduate of Timberline High School in Olympia, Washington, where I played four years of high school softball. After graduating, I attended Peninsula College in Port Angeles, Washington, earning an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice while continuing my softball career for one season with the Pirates.

This season marks my fourth year coaching with the Sundodgers organization. In addition, I have spent the past six years coaching Little League softball and have continued to expand my knowledge of the game through leadership roles with the Little League Board and Washington District 10. I am also entering my third year as a middle school fastpitch coach.

I am passionate about helping young athletes develop their skills, build confidence, and grow both on and off the field. My goal is to create a positive, competitive environment where players can reach their full potential while developing a lifelong love for the game.

 

Jason Youngman- Next year will be my third-year coaching with Sundodgers and 6th year overall coaching fastpitch. Played baseball; little league through High School. Adult league softball for multiple seasons 

 

Currently Chief of Police for the city of Edgewood 

Graduate of West Point Model Police Leadership School and 21st Century Police Leadership program

Use of Force expert for the Pierce County Sheriff's Office. Regional Defense Tactics Instructor for the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission and Defensive Tactics/ Martial Arts Instructor for the last 29 years

 

Ava Heitman- (Pitching coach)- Played Varsity high school for 4 years and continued her career at Taft College in California.

DETAILS: 
Tourneys: 12 tourneys 
Practice: 2x/week practice. (1-week day, 1 weekend) *Additional OUTDOOR practices when the weather permits. 
Instruction: Professional instruction from Softball U
Roster Size: 14 Players
Travel: Team may travel 2-3 times including Vegas, Oklahoma and Tri-cities. Travel is paid for by families and not included in team fee.

INDIVIDUAL BENEFITS INCLUDED IN THE MEMBERSHIP:

Skill Specific Weekday practices will be skill specific training through Softball University. Including pitching, catching, hitting, defense, & performance classes

1-on-1 Lessons Includes 5 pack of 30 min 1-on 1 lessons through Softball U (1x per month Jan-May)

Softball Social For players 14u and up - Weekly virtual and/or in person mentorship & recruiting meetings. 

Open Facility After school open facility time at any Mariners Training Center: Mondays - Thursdays

Camp Pass No extra charge for Softball U holiday camps, metrics camps, and summer camp.

UNIFORMS

Players will need to NAVY, WHITE & GOLD uniform items. All uniforms and fan gear will be purchased online through BSN. We will set up times for players to come try on the sizing kit. Uniform costs are separate from team fees.
