TEAM: 14U SUNDODGERS - WRIGHT/RASMUSSEN

COACHES: 14u Sundodgers - Wright/Rasmussen will be coached by Shawna Wright, Carli Rasmussen & Jake Williams

Shawna founded Sundodgers Softball in 2013, and has coached 16u and 18u Sundodgers teams. She has lead Sundodgers teams to compete at USA, PGF, and Alliance Nationals. As a player, Shawna is an alumni of the University of Washington where she played catcher, took two trips to the WCWS, earned PAC-12 Defensive Player of the Year, and won a PAC-10 Championship. 

Carli has been coaching Sundodgers 16u since 2015 and co-head coached Sundodgers 18u this past season. She has helped several Sundodgers prepare for their next level.  As a player, Carli was a two-sport collegiate athlete at PLU in soccer and softball, earning team captain for both teams. 

Jake has a philosophy that is centered around first the mental approach of consistent, positive reinforcement. Which leads to the game approach of teaching proper mechanics and technique. With the overall goal to grow confidence on the field and most importantly in life. He brings a total of 15 years coaching experience. Jake has coached from the sometimes challenging and patience testing T-Ball level up to the Club level. This last year proudly coaching as an assistant for the 14U Sundodgers Larsen team. He is very excited to get started with the upcoming season. And look forward to the opportunity to help Coach and learn from Shawna Wright, and continuing to be apart of the Sundodgers organization and family. 

DETAILS: 
Tourneys: 12 tourneys
Practice: 2x/week practice. (1-week day, 1 weekend)
*Additional OUTDOOR practices when the weather permits. HS players will only have practice Sunday during HS Season.
Open Facility: M-Th 2:45-4:45 in any SU facility (Holiday Schedules can change)
Instruction: Professional instruction from Softball U 1x/wk SEP-FEB
Roster Size: 14-16 Players
Travel: Team will travel around 4 times. Travel is paid for by families and not included in team fee.

Aug: $600 Down payment securing your spot
8 Monthly Payments: $406.25

*Does not include uniforms, or personal travel 

UNIFORMS

Players will need to NAVY, WHITE & GOLD uniform items. All uniforms and fan gear will be purchased online through BSN. We will set up times for players to come try on the sizing kit. Uniform costs are separate from team fees.

TRAVEL

We will travel 3-4 times. Our travel tourneys will be Washington based such as Wenatchee and Yakima area. We will also travel out of state 1-2 times.

Some recruiting tourneys are “stay to play” tourneys. Meaning we have to stay in certain hotels they choose, or the team can pay a fine to stay somewhere else. This means all players must stay in team hotel. While on the road, it is a business trip. We like to model it after a college road series. We hold team meetings, practices, or team bonding to fill any free time if game schedules permit. 


ORPHANS : There will not be any orphans at the 14u level. 
 

COMPENSATE AND ADJUST: Sundodgers families have to have the ability to compensate and adjust. Later tourneys are determined by qualifying status. Whether we qualify or not will determine future tourney schedule. Saturday practices are determined by weather. STAY ON YOUR TOES! 

RECRUITING:

Coaches will clearly lay out the steps of the process and help girls confidently take on each step. Players will have someone who has walked the path and has been through the recruiting process to help them along the journey. Sundodgers have former college athletes leading them, all who have personal connections to schools across the country. Coaches trust our opinion on players because they have seen us play and know we understand the game and what it takes to play at the next level. SUNDODGERS SPORTS IS A REGISTERED 501(c)3 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION!

 We secured our non-profit status to help famlies afford the raising cost of youth sports. The 501(c)3 makes it easier for players to raise funds toward any of their Sundodgers team needs including team fee, uniforms, apparel, travel, etc.
